The DNC launched “WhichMitt.com“ Monday morning, highlighting Romney’s various flip-flops. The website presents a series of issues and responses, challenging readers to pick which answer Romney gave. A third option, “All of the above,” is one possible answer to the questions — and, it turns out, the one that’s always correct.

Yesterday in his press conference, President Bush asserted that Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell told him:

“we have new information” on Iran’s nuclear program, but “he did not tell me what the information was.”

BUSH:

I was made aware of the NIE last week. In August, I think it was John — Mike McConnell came in and said, We have some new information. He didn’t tell me what the information was. He did tell me it was going to take a while to analyze.

Later, when a reporter followed-up on this statement, Bush asserted no one ever told him to stop ratcheting up the rhetoric against Iran:

REPORTER: Are you saying at no point while the rhetoric was escalating, as World War III was making it into conversation — at no point, nobody from your intelligence team or your administration was saying, Maybe you want to back it down a little bit?
BUSH: No — I’ve never — nobody ever told me that.

This morning, the cast of Morning Joe (Joe Scarborough) chided Bush’s claim. Co-host Willie Geist said,

“It’s just not a credible answer, I’m afraid.”

Host Joe Scarborough ripped into Bush, saying that president is either “lying to the American people” or is simply “stupid”:

We are left with only two options here. Either the President of the United States is lying to the American people about what happened during that meeting, or the President of the United States is stupid.

Actually I would go with Both. Bush is a pathological lier and stupid.

Our Senator, Dianne Feinstein, has been ignoring us for far too long. She has voted again and again and again to enable the worst elements of Bush policy: war, torture, racism, homophobia. I’ve had enough of my representative in Washington ignoring me. Let’s do what we have to do to hold the Senator accountable for her actions. Join the coalition of Californians moving to Censure the Senator by visiting http://www.couragecampaign.org/censurethesenator

Sign on to support the resolution calling for the California Democratic Party to censure the Senator

Dianne Feinstein has failed us. Now it’s time to hold her accountable. Deadline: Friday at noon.
Please join the Courage Campaign and Democratic Clubs and grassroots organizations in calling for the California Democratic Party to officially censure Senator Feinstein for her shameful votes confirming Judge Michael Mukasey as U.S. Attorney General and Judge Leslie Southwick to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. (A full list of endorsing organizations is below.)

Here is the text of the current censure resolution, authored by California Democratic Party Progressive Caucus co-chair Mal Burnstein, that will be submitted to the Executive Board of the California Democratic Party at its meeting November 16-18 in Anaheim.

Whereas Senator Dianne Feinstein voted to support the nomination of Judge Michael Mukasey as United States Attorney General, thereby elevating to the highest position in law enforcement a man who refused to renounce the right of the President to resort to torture and who refused to recognize waterboarding as a form of torture, and by this action Senator Feinstein failed to oppose President Bush and failed to stand for the ideals of the Democratic Party, which abhors torture and stands firmly against its use by the United States at all times and places; and

Whereas Senator Feinstein voted to confirm Judge Leslie Southwick for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit despite his clear record of racism and gender discrimination, thus failing to stand firmly with the Democratic Party, which supports gender equality and opposes racism in any of its manifestations; and

Whereas these examples are far from the only instances where Senator Feinstein, after seeking and securing the support and endorsement of the California Democratic Party, has failed to support the policies and principles of our party;

Therefore be it resolved that the California Democratic Party expresses its disappointment at, and censure of, Senator Feinstein for ignoring Democratic principles and falling so far below the standard of what we expect of our elected officials.

Endorsed by the Courage Campaign, Executive Board of the California Democratic Party Progressive Caucus, Progressive Democrats of America, East Bay for Democracy Democratic Club, Wellstone Democratic Renewal Club, San Diego Democracy for America, Sacramento for Democracy, and DFA-Orange County

Maybe we WILL have Bush/Cheney around longer than 18 months.

Thom Hartmann began his program by reading from a new Executive Order which allows the government to seize the assets of anyone who interferes with its Iraq policies. He then introduced Paul Craig Roberts by quoting: “Unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the US could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran.”
