President Bush and 7 top members of his Administration made at least 935 false and misleading statements in the 2 years after 9-11 in order to justify their illegal invasion of Iraq. We have known for some time that the Bush administration methodically and repeatedly told blatant lies about the National Security threat posed by Saddam Hussein in order to gain national and world support for invading a sovereign nation that was no threat to the United States. This carefully coordinated campaign was the underpinning of the Bush administrations entire case for war.
Now, after an comprehensive analysis of pre-war rhetoric and exhaustive examination of the facts by the Fund for Independence in Journalism and the Center for Public Integrity the true scope of this administrations deception, illicit behavior and complete disdain for the American people is again on view.

In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003. Not surprisingly, the officials with the most opportunities to make speeches, grant media interviews, and otherwise frame the public debate also made the most false statements, according to this first-ever analysis of the entire body of prewar rhetoric.
Besides George Bush (260 false statements), who are the 7 officials that should be tried for treason?
As of today, three thousand, nine hundred and thirty one (3931) Americans have died in Iraq because Bush lied. That means as of now, for every lie this administration told, 4 Americans have been murdered by this administration.
I hope Bush and the Republicans who protect him are proud of the pain and suffering they have caused the families, the sons, daughters, mothers and fathers of these men and women who are no longer with us.

The report is certainly enlightening. However, we should remember that lying to start a war is not unique to this administration. There need to be fundamental changes to how government is structured, not just changes in personality.
That’s a great headline.
This isn’t the first administration that’s lied but it’s certainly perfected the art of lying. What’s sad is that so many Americans just don’t care. I’m an American living outside the US for many years and I see the tarnished reputation I grew up being so proud of.
