  Hi Couchmouse,

  I watched the entire speech here in your site.It is a challenge to everyone to face the issues squarely rather than dismiss it. Great speech from a great man. I hope he becomes President, and hope further that he finishes his term.

  This was a very brave effort and a stinging challenge to liberals and conservatives whose fascist tendencies (left or right) is the most divisive element of all. Great post! Thanks. –Durano, done!

  Found your site through entrecard. Well, all I can say is I already ranted against his speech on my own blog. I can’t possibly go through the whole thing again with my head exploding. This man is the biggest hypocrit in the world. He can’t even recognize evil in his own church. How can we possible expect him to recognize evil from abroad? His pastor is absolutely racist and hates this great country. I can’t possibly believe that Obama was not affected after listing to his tripe for 20 years. Anyway..Like I said, I ranted this whole already..I can’t do it again..

  This was a fantastic speech. I also posted it on my website a few days. I am glad to see it is being posted elsewhere too.

  To “the Bobo,” I find your comment somewhat humorous. As his record has shown, he is anything but a hypocrit. Perhaps you should invest the time into researching him and his past, and base that judgment on that, not what his former Reverend did. Also, to call his Reverend “evil” is pushing it a bit much.

  You also make the assumption that the Reverend spoke like that on a daily basis or something, which is not true. I have not even seen many clips that would show that he did it very often at all. A few here and there is all.

  I have to disagree here. Anybody can read a good speech and most of the people who’ve ever ran for President have been slick and polished. That is not good enough! We need more than a pretty face and the ability to ‘appear’ honest. Obama’s willingness to sit in front of a racially prejudiced person like Wright for 20 years is a bad sign. Most people would not go back if they didn’t agree with what was being preached; he kept right on going. We also don’t need a president who is already on bad terms with the muslim people by being sentenced to death. They will have no respect for him at all. I personally also do not like having a president who is not American, wasn’t born American and thinks it is okay to attend a church that believes Americans deserve whatever they get. I hate the fact that he doesn’t even have an American name. Neither first nor last is American. Growing up in America does not make him American. He is a foreigner.

  Everything I planned to say flew right out the window when I red Blue Licorice’s comment. Am I missing some sort of irony or sarcasm here? Are you seriously complaining that Barack Obama’s name isn’t “American?” What exactly makes an American name? ALL American names were brought here from other countries. There is no such thing as an American name, and the variety of peoples and cultures and names is what makes America what it is.

  Please explain to me, and the rest of the people reading these comments, what criteria a name has to match to be American. Is it limited to a certain number of vowels, or is there perhaps some master list of acceptable American names that the rest of us are not aware of? Are Irish names OK? Does the name have to be associated with the Catholic church?

  Are people born in Hawaii not American, now? Did I miss a memo? Or was it the four years he spent in Indonesia as a child? Do you get kicked out of the club, now, if you leave American soil?

  I do not think Obama is a good choice for the presidency, but on the other hand there is no good choice in this election as far as I can see.
